A defunct special army unit of the early nineties assembles after years of civilian life. The investigation into the death of their old commanding officer's daughter is their mission; a decision their leader, Ben de Bruin regrets almost immediately, not knowing it will change all their lives forever.
Years of civilian life have changed the members of this elite unit. They cannot run from their personal problems or aspirations. They may hide their secrets, but even deep dark secrets have a way of surfacing. Can they cope without the strict military discipline of the past, or will their personalities split them apart?
They quickly discover that nothing is as it seems, and that danger lurks at unexpected places. Death has become their companion. Their investigation leads them to confusing results. They are facing no ordinary criminals and have to devise bold and daring plans to outwit and outsmart their adversaries. The new drug the criminals developed is a more dangerous and addictive than most drugs on the market.
Their final plan goes terribly wrong. Corruption and deceit engulfs them. Justice is bloody and violent. What price will they pay, or can they outsmart the enemy?
