The award committee has specifically cited the exceptional efforts made by the company to educate, forewarn and assist in identification of the fast spreading pest Tuta absoluta across the Mediterranean countries over the past three years, a pest which caused huge damage to Tomato crop across the region.

From the start of the spread of Tuta absoluta, Russell IPM set up dedicated sites in five languages to provide platform to share experience and knowledge between those who work in the field to ensure that the professional are bettered prepared for the arrival of this dangerous pest. Many seminars have been organised in Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
