April 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Miami — ARMA International, the premier worldwide organization that brings together records managers from all walks of life in the private and public sectors, has signed an Association Partnership with the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS).

The agreement, signed April 21, 2011, paves the way for the 11,000 ARMA professional members to obtain the landmark Certified E-Discovery Specialist certification that ACEDS awards. ARMA members will receive a special 25% discount in the certification exam fees to become Certified E-Discovery Specialists. They will receive an extensive CEDS Exam Preparation Manual when they apply. ARMA members can activate the 25% discount by using code ARMACERT when they register online at ACEDS.org or call or email ACEDS.

Records managers have been joining ACEDS on a regular basis since the launch of the association in 2010. A number of records managers attended the ACEDS Annual Conference in March 2011 in Hollywood, Florida.

ACEDS will promote the training and peer networking programs of ARMA.

CEDS e-discovery certification
The CEDS certification is the first legally defensible, psychometrically-sound credential in e-discovery. The certification exam is the culmination of an eight-month process that involved 40 experts, testing experts and a 272-item global survey. Lawyers, records managers, litigation support professionals, and IT specialists throughout the United States, plus Canada, Taiwan and the United Kingdom have earned the CEDS credential. More are scheduled to take the exam at any of 560 ACEDS-Kryterion Testing Centers worldwide. ACEDS has created a listing of 35 FAQs about CEDS certification.

In February 2011, ILTA, the International Legal Technology Association, signed a similar Association Partnership with ACEDS.
