By: Market Insights, LLC The unveiling of the monument will take place directly in front of The Trenton Veterans Library. As many as 200 to 250 family members are expected to be present along with 1967 Trenton High School graduate and Trenton’s highest ranking Lieutenant General Sams. In addition to presiding over the dedication and unveiling ceremony, General Sams will serve as the Grand Marshall of the Parade. Air Force Ronald Sams, will be assisting with the unveiling at the ceremony. The main addition to the outside memorial on May 28, will include six Dakota Mahogany granite monuments (three on each side of the current stone monument) displaying the names of the foreign wars and listing the names of each soldier who was a casualty of that war. The Exchange Club of Trenton also has assisted with the project by promoting the purchase of commemorative American flags, which will be on display from May 28 through June 4 at the Veterans’ Memorial Flag Field. The temporary flag display will consist of a minimum of one hundred American 3x5’ flags atop eight foot poles in the area of West Road and Westfield Drive to honor a deceased, past or actively serving veterans.
