April 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Proving that we’re a nation of food lovers, one of Cheshire’s leading hotels – the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa – is reporting the resounding success of its Ready, Steady, Learn to Cook events.

Hosted by executive chef Leigh Myers and now in their sixth year, the events are sponsored by some prestigious suppliers and attract about 100 guests. Each event involves a live cooking demonstration interspersed by a three-course meal, allowing guests to sample the dishes being cooked. Everyone receives full recipes of the dishes on the menu to take away and try at home.

On 1 April, guests were treated to an Easter-themed event in the hotel’s stunning Grosvenor Suite, which was sponsored by M&J Seafoods, Rodney Densem Wines, Littlers Butchers and Richard Wellock & Sons. Throughout the evening Leigh demonstrated how to prepare and cook various dishes, offering professional insider tips along the way, while guests were able to watch his every move via various large screens placed around the room.

Diners were also educated in wine selections for each course, courtesy of Steve Leonard of Rodney Densem Wines, who chose the aperitif, wines and champagne to complement the Easter theme.

In addition to educating guests about produce, preparation and cooking methods, Leigh also highlighted the hotel’s popular Chef’s Academy, which he launched last year. Making his debut alongside Leigh was Liam Bowden aged 16 from Deeside, an up and coming chef of the future who’s hoping to join the hotel’s Chef’s Academy as soon as he’s old enough.

Leigh comments: “Our Ready, Steady, Learn to Cook evenings are a lot of fun and a great night out. For just £35 diners get to sample various high quality beverages, learn how to cook delicious meals, eat everything they see being prepared and even receive copies of the recipes to take away and experiment with at home. It’s the perfect night out for food and wine lovers, whether they like to cook or simply enjoy fine dining in beautiful surroundings. It’s also excellent value for money.”

The next Ready, Steady, Learn to Cook event will take place in September. Tickets cost just £35 for a minimum of 4 alcoholic drinks, cooking demonstration and three-course meal followed by coffee and chocolates.
