The American Animal Care Center is dedicated to enhance and expand the human-animal bond in the Alameda and Contra Costa County. We serve the Veterinary needs of the entire Bay Area since 1986. Being strongly committed to this goal our Veterinarians and staff in conjunction
with Veterinary Specialists and consultants strive to offer the most knowledgeable, informed and compassionate veterinary care possible for our patients. We understand your pet is part of your family! As pet owners ourselves, we feel the same way. At American Animal Care Center, we are committed to providing your pets with the same high-quality medical care we would expect for our own. Our patients include: dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, turtles, and iguanas.

We are available for appointments 7 days a week. Emergencies are accepted anytime throughout the day and on-call at night. Emergencies and Urgent Care are always seen first, followed by scheduled appointments. Walk-ins are always welcome.

We are an Emergency and Critical care center. We handle countless emergencies every year. Many are genuine life-or-death cases: the dog or cat poisoned by rat poison, the pet hit by a car, the pet having an epileptic seizure, those in heart failure or in a diabetic crisis, or the pregnant dog or cat with a puppy or kitten stuck in the birth canal are just a few examples.

Every dog and cat, regardless of size, breed, age or coat type, needs to be groomed on a regular basis. Our groomers are caring professionals who will make your pet look great.

Out grooming services include bathing, dematting, and nail care.
   


PHILOSOPHY

We diagnose before we treat! At American Animal Care Center, we perform the tests necessary to get a definitive diagnosis. Instead of masking the symptoms, we acquire scientific confirmation through diagnostic testing. We don't "make up" diagnoses to satisfy pet owners and we don't treat unknown diseases. We are always working towards a definitive diagnosis. There is a perception that cutting edge medicine costs more than ordinary medicine, however, the opposite is true. When an accurate diagnosis is made the first time and the appropriate treatment started, we save you time, money, and the aggravation that is accompanied with "hit and trial" medicine. Our goal is to successfully meet the challenges of diagnosis and treatment of difficult cases, as fast as possible and at a reasonable costs.

We strongly believe in preventive care. Not only will preventive care keep your pet healthy and living longer, it will also save you a lot of expense! The gradual onset of health problems in an apparently healthy pet often go unnoticed. Once symptoms appear, the condition may be too difficult or costly to diagnose and treat. There are many conditions, that if diagnosed early, can be completely reversed or controlled for extended periods of time. We want your pet to live a longer, healthier, and happier life!

All of our doctors are Licensed in the State of California and have undergone rigorous training procedures and have undertaken numerous examinations. Our Board Licensed Veterinarians are members of the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. Our other professional affiliations include: Centerville Business Association. All of our doctors have a support network where they can consult each other and specialists in the areas of Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Radiology, Dermatology, Opthalmology, & Neurology.

American Animal Care Center is the largest provider of Veterinary services to the Tri-City area.

American Animal Care Center, is a full-service hospital for small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry. In addition, we provide emergency, grooming and boarding services. We treat dogs and cats mostly but enjoy seeing birds, and pocket pets (guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, rabbits, chinchillas, and hamsters). Our Veterinarians have the expertise to diagnose and treat almost all conditions that your pet may have.
