Work Experience Travel Market - IAPA Annual Conference Closes Successfully in Brussels

April 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The annual Work Experience Travel Market (WETM) and IAPA Annual Conference (IAC) concluded a very successful three days in Brussels last month.

WETM-IAC, now in its 14th year, is an annual B2B event held by the International Au Pair Association (IAPA) and WYSE Work Abroad, two of the World Youth Student and Educational Travel Confederation’s sector associations. It has long been regarded as the must-attend event for the au pair, work & travel, cultural exchange, internship & volunteering industries.

WETM has been one of the most successful events for us to visit in order to meet quality partners in the work experience and cultural exchange travel field. Despite the fact that India is a relatively new destination for such programs, we have gained tremendous benefit from attending the event continuously for many years, and we intend to participate regularly in future events also," according to Ninad Sharma, IDEX – Indian Network for Development Exchange.

Some key numbers from the event:

•   270 delegates (10% increase from 2010)
•   182 organisations
•   2076 business appointments
•   44 different countries represented

The business appointments and networking sessions will pave the way for business growth for a large number of the delegates present. Sector-focused seminars at the event also highlighted the many educational opportunities – these seminars included new developments on visa regulations for the U.S. market as well as key insights for companies interested in developing volunteering programmes.

Planning for the 2012 event is already underway. It will be held in Budapest, Hungary, with registration opening soon after the WYSE Travel Confederation concludes WYSTC, its other annual conference held this year in Barcelona, Spain from 20-23 September.
