Cemetery Blogger Burl Ives Remembered

There are millions of blogs out there, but a midwestern woman has carved out an interesting niche. Joy Neighbors blog, A Grave Interest, deals with cemeteries, history and genealogy. Last Friday she wrote a blog about folk music legend Burl Ives.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 17, 2011 - Ives died sixteen years ago, on April 14, 1995 and was known as one of America's most beloved folk song singers, as well as an award-winning actor and voice-over artist.  Neighbors describes Ives life from his singing minstrel days in the 30’s, to his acting career in the 40’s and 50’s, to his role as Sam the Snowman in Rankin/Bass’ holiday classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”  Neighbors spices up the post with photos relating to Ives, and ends with the epitaph on his monument in Mound Cemetery.  Well thought out and written, it’s a mini capsule of his life for blog readers to enjoy.

Neighbors began her blogging career in February of this year.  The Graveyard Rabbit Association, the premier Internet cemetery group, interviewed her the same month.

Upcoming posts include Strange Cemetery Trees that includes an interview with International Arborist, Larry Caplan; Weddings in the Cemetery, and Who Were the Woodsmen of the World, to name a few.
