April 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Today, Danike released PocketPharmacistTM 2.4, an update to their medication-based iOS application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.  The newest software expands beyond the original feature set allowing users to engage in a variety of drug resources and medication management.

PocketPharmacist provides a drug database of easy-to-understand drug information which has been created, developed, and summarized by a Pharmacist. PocketPharmacist differs from other drug information Apps, in that it offers clear and concise information versus sorting through volumes of drug data.  A recent user commented, “The app truly feels like I'm interacting with a pharmacist who knows what info needs highlighted and knows how to explain things rather than an encyclopedia.”.

In version 2.4, the newest feature is called Pillbox.  It allows users to track and store lists of medications for an unlimited number of people. These medication lists can then be e-mailed to healthcare professionals or family members as needed.

In addition to Pillbox, PocketPharmacist 2.4 has added an array of web resources, all of which are readily accessible directly through the App itself.  These web resources include:

Pill Identification
Medical Dictionary
FDA Updates
Consumer Health Information

As seen in prior versions of the App, PocketPharmacist still allows users to submit confidential, medication-related questions to be answered by a licensed Pharmacist.  Each question costs a small fee ($2.99) and comes with one free follow-up question.  Users are able to ask any type of medication related question, such as clarifications on drug interactions, adverse effects, and attempts to lower drug costs.
