John Burr Voiceover Basics Workshop

Burr, the workshop leader and founder of John Burr Voice Dynamics, has more than 30 years experience as a professional voice coach, recording engineer and producer. His many years in the industry provide him an in-depth understanding of every stage of the production process. His recording studios in Sarasota and in Bethesda, Maryland, offer state-of-the-art post-production equipment and more than 100,000 music and sound effects cuts for producing professional-quality voiceover demos.

The workshop will feature an overview of the voiceover industry, the basics of technique, and critique sessions in commercial and narration techniques. “By the end of the session, you’ll know if this is a field to pursue,” he says.

In addition to the workshop, Burr offers one-on-one coaching for individuals ready to begin or continue a career in the expanding voiceover industry. “We study the dynamics of script interpretation, develop an understanding of language dynamics, learn how to control the parameters of on-mike technique, and build confidence in your ability to handle audition and project scenarios.”
