The ground-breaking project, which is being undertaken by a team within the Department of Mathematics at University of Sussex in conjunction with DC Storm, will explore, define and test the relationship between bid, position, click through rate, cost per click and conversion rate.

DC Storm won a South East England Development Agency grant to help fund the project, which will aim to construct a mathematical model that captures the interaction and relationships between the various input variables as well as a model to predict the affect of bid changes to overall profitability. In addition, the project will look at the effect of automating optimisation to maximise client profitability still further.
