April 15, 2011 - PRLog -- The Miss Black Massachusetts Organization provides an opportunity for women of African American descent to showcase their talents, intellect, creativity and inner/outer beauty. Miss Black Massachusetts 2006-2007 Dima Hendricks, currently serves as Massachusetts State Director for the Miss Black USA Organization. Dima although the winner of the pageant was not allowed to compete nationally because she suffers from Sickle cell Anemia but undaunted she went forward to become not only the national spokeswoman for the Heart Association of America but also a driving force behind the growth of the Greater Boston Sickle Cell anemia foundation which serves youth suffering from Sickle Cell. That Mrs Uchendu-Hendricks greatest passion has been to help young people is evident in her successes which include raising the awareness of the true goal of The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation in the state of Maryland, recognized under the 501(c) 3 code of the Internal Revenue Service. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., was founded in 1986 by its current National Director, Karen Arrington. The 23 year legacy of Miss Black USA according to Mrs Uchendu-Hendricks who prefers to be called Dima has always been about awarding excellence in our communities and not about looks as much as inner beauty and pride in appearance, thought and deed. Dima wants young women of color to remain encouraged and stand steadfast and undaunted in the face of adversity. The Miss Black Massachusetts title is about providing our children with positive rolemodels who don.t preach excess but success. Anyone can help in our efforts to reach deserving young minds and each year through generous corporate giving our prizelist and scholarship aid to youtng girls and women continues to grow.     If you are interested in supporting this worthy organization start byn by visiting www.missblackusa.org.
