Asholay Distribution announce Nanoblock as their latest product range

-Manufacturer boasts Nanoblock as the smallest toy brick in the world
-Asholay Distribution secures exclusive UK distribution rights

Asholay Distribution, a Bedford-based distribution company specialising in innovative toys from around the globe, have secured exclusive distribution rights to the well-established Japanese construction product Nanoblock. These miniature building-block sets are highly collectable and appeal to a wide range of tastes and ages. Their potential has already been noted in the UK by such brands as Firebox.com and ZSL London Zoo who now stock a range of nanoblocks as supplied by Asholay. Fenwick Department store have also started stocking the toy as a great gift idea.

The smallest of the unique bricks is a mere 4x4x5mm and allows users to create highly detailed 3d models occupying only a small amount of space. There are three series currently available in the UK: the ‘Miniature Collection’, which contains popular animals and instruments, the ‘Sights to See’ which includes famous landmarks from around the globe and for the real enthusiast, the ‘Advanced Hobby’ series with models reaching 5,800 pieces and boasting 20 hours of build time.

Ashley Yeates, Chief Executive of Asholay Distribution, said: “We are already seeing a broad range of appeal with nanoblocks, from the young at heart to the hobbyist, and models can be built and displayed on anything from a child’s bookshelf to a desk in the office. We already have over 20 different sets available in the UK and I am excited to report we have many more on the way, including UK specific items. The great thing with Nanoblock is that you’re not limited to building the packaged models; with just eleven brick types the product retains a basic construction style, so the adventurous who want to build their own creations are limited only by their imagination!”

RRP: Miniature Collection: £7.99 | Sights to See Series: £14.99 | Advanced Hobby Series: £149.99

Notes to Editors

Asholay Distribution Ltd
Founded by Chief Executive Ashley Yeates in 2010, Asholay Distribution aims to bring the most exciting products from around the globe to the UK market, which may have been overlooked or missed by others. With Nanoblock as their launch platform, they are always looking for the next big thing, as well as developing their own line of exciting products.

Nanoblocks
Nanoblock first went on sale in Japan, October 2008 by Kawada, rapidly gaining success and a huge following through the toy and gift markets. Nanoblock now enjoys large dedicated display sections in the largest chains of Japan, such as Loft and Tokyo Hands, giving them excellent market presence. The manufacturer also creates licensed products, special edition and trend response sets, while constantly adding further new items to the Nanoblock catalogue. Alongside this, competitions are regularly run for user-submitted creations under different categories.

The range brought to the UK market by Asholay are boxed and blister packs in three different series: ‘Miniature Collection’, which is the typical starting point and with models containing 80-180 bricks and currently including animals and instruments, ‘Sights to See’ where models reach over 580 pieces of famous landmarks across the globe (UK items in development, including Big Ben) and the ‘Advanced Hobby’ series for the real enthusiast which presently contains one item – a 5,800 piece Castle Neuschwanstein.

Following Nanoblocks success* in Japan, Kawada now distribute on a global scale, awarding select companies with exclusivity in their country.
