2011 Entertainment & Choice Awards brings Hollywood and the red carpet to Utah Live May 20th

April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- It has long been said that Utah can be considered a "Little Hollywood". From snow packed mountains to sprawling deserts, Utah has played host to over 800 film and television productions.  On May 20th, 2011 Utah will celebrate its entertainment influence by hosting The 2011 Utah Entertainment & Choice Awards live from Salt Lake City.

The Entertainment and Choice Awards (ECA) were created to spotlight those companies and individuals who have contributed to Utah's entertainment and business communities. Nominees will be honored from a variety of areas including film, television, radio, community contribution and athletics. It’s anticipated this black tie event will draw more than 1,000 influential attendees who all share the same goal of contributing to and expanding Utah's entertainment and business infrastructure.

Guest appearances by well known celebrities include; from the Matrix Reloaded, host and emcee Daniel Bernhardt, BYU’s own Jimmer Fredette, comedian Louie Anderson, author Richard Paul Evans, sports personality Melinda Prince, and of course Utah’s own Donny Osmond.

In keeping with Utah’s time honored commitment to service and benefiting the community, the ECA has partnered with the medical foundation Neuroworx.org to spotlight this dedicated company’s efforts toward research on spinal cord injuries. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to benefit Neuroworx's rehabilitation facility located in Sandy Utah.  

Additionally, another unique aspect of this event is that the nomination process is not simply based on industry insiders. Everyone can nominate those individuals from each of the entertainment fields who they feel have made a difference in, and a contribution to, our local communities.
