Laurel House's "Magic" Gala

NORRISTOWN, PA - Laurel House will be hosting their annual Gala to support the fight against domestic violence on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, PA.

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 14, 2011 - This year's "Magic" Gala is all about celebrating the "Magic" of courage, compassion and inspiration of those who have survived an abusive relationship. The night will include an evening of fine cuisine and cocktails, as well as a magic performance, music provided by CTO, and silent and live auctions. Auction items include exclusive Phillies tickets box seats donated by Tammy and Andrew Reid, Kenny Chesney concert tickets with meet and greet passes, Kenny Chesney autographed hat, Taylor Swift concert tickets with meet and greet passes, and a Taylor Swift signed guitar.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Laurel House, contributing over 20,000 hours per year. This year the event will honor a number of those dedicated volunteers, including Lowe's Store Employee Volunteers (Hatfield, Montgomeryville, Plymouth Meeting, and Willow Grove), and PECO Plymouth Service Building's "Warm Hearts Group". Also being honored that evening will be Joyce Blunt of Plymouth Meeting, a long-time volunteer, as well as a group of volunteers from Nehemiah's Way, a transitional housing program of Laurel House, located in the North Wales community. The Nehemiah's Way volunteers are Robin Alderfer of East Norriton, PA, Linda Boorse of Perkionmenville, PA, and Bob and Norrell Weisenborn of Souderton, PA.

The chair for this year's Gala is Jackie Allen and the auction chair is Pat Younce. They are assisted by a committee of board members and community volunteers.
