Teesside Graduate Starts Film Music Company

April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- In 2010 Teesside University graduate David Healey decided to start his own company. He applied to join the Digital City Fellowship business program at the IDI in Middlesbrough and was accepted in May last year. With almost no business background David often felt overwhelmed by the prospect of starting-up on his own but persevered with the Fellowship and successfully completed it.  

With the added assistance of both Redcar & Cleveland council and Middlesbrough council he officially registered Total Composure ltd. “Going it alone in business has been a daunting task” says David, “but things are going well and we get lots of support from North East businesses and the council and have found that there is plenty of free advice available from various places, including business link and HMRC, that is equivalent to thousands of pounds worth of training and much more in terms of what it has added to our company”.

The North East based company has already established itself as a provider of high quality bespoke music. Collaborating on projects including animations, video games, films and radio. With their most recent work being music for a CBBC MyToons animation, sound effects for an international selling iPad game and jingles for a local radio station.  

In March of this year Total Composure was awarded a grant by Middlesbrough council to purchase new equipment to increase the companies productivity and promote their services to a wider audience, resulting in new clients and a better range of services. The company has also been nominated for Redcar & Cleveland councils 2011 Best New Business Start Up award and Exceptional entrepreneur award.

With a view to encourage the continued growth of the North East media sector Total Composure is bringing in some of the best undiscovered talent in the industry. Harnessing the power of the web, viral marketing and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter the company has been able to independently promote itself and it’s services to clients and are proud to announce that they are connecting with talented composers all over the world who are eager to join their team and provide an ever improving service to their clients.
