Millman Realty Merges with Emory Hill Residential

April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW CASTLE, DE, April, 2011 – The Emory Hill companies are pleased to announce the merger of Millman Realty and Emory Hill Residential Real Estate, a move that blends to two residential real estate firms into one entity.

Gene Millman, President of Millman Realty Associates, and Buddy West, President of Emory Hill Residential Real Estate, are pleased to join their two teams, serving the State of Delaware, Cecil County in Maryland and Chester County in Pennsylvania.

Emory Hill, celebrating its 30th year in business was founded in 1981. It is Delaware’s only full-service real estate firm, offering construction, property management, maintenance and both commercial and residential brokerage services.

Millman’s seven-year-old agency, based in Newport, moved to the Emory Hill building located at 10 Corporate Circle in New Castle on April 1, which also marks the third anniversary of Emory Hill Residential.

Poised to take a greater stake of the market when it returns in full, West and Millman agree that the merger is mutually beneficial. The services and resources available through Emory Hill’s other divisions, such as maintenance and construction, make one-stop-shopping appealing to residential buyers and sellers.

While the merger nearly doubles the size of the three-year-old firm, it strengthens the mission of offering concierge services to clients who prefer working with a boutique firm rather than a large company of independent and often newly-licensed agents. The small office atmosphere remains the same.

“I don’t have a crystal ball here, but I think when you look ahead, the real estate and the brokerage model will have to change. We don’t need big offices anymore. Technology has made us more efficient and effective.” says Millman.

While offering traditional residential real estate services, enhanced by the resources of Emory Hill’s other companies, the firms will focus their attention on niche markets such as senior housing, first-time buyers navigating the current market, foreclosures and short sales.

“Between the two of us, we should be able to shine,” says West, who has shared a long friendship with Millman.

In addition to Gene Millman, joining Emory Hill Residential are agents Traceta Bailey, Michael Coughlan, Jet Griffin, Charles F. Mitchell III, Dominic Racobaldo, Deirdre Sadler and Jeanie (CJ) Womack, along with associate Trinity Stanley.
