The answer has got the leading number of votes throughout the continents (26%), from the United States (29%) to India (36%), in the poll conducted by the international dating site Live Date Search.
Why so? The 2nd and 3rd popular answers suggest a probable reason. 19% of the voters are fascinated by the culture and people of a specific foreign country. Cultural differences no longer separate but bring people together today. With that globalization level that we have now, communication truly goes beyond borders.
The 3rd popular answer, which has got 18%, is as much meaningful. The voters can’t find a person for a serious relationship in their own country. In Europe and America people have to seek love abroad.
And they do mean serious, which is proved by the other voting results. The least popular reason for international online dating is curiosity or fun (8%). People are determined in their search of true love online, as they think they don’t stand good chances in the place they live.
The last reason preventing communication is found to be poor foreign language skills. Only 6% of the voters picked this reason when asked what makes them break off an online relationship after a while. We are willing to communicate and the language problem is the last to discourage or stop us.
One more fact in support of idea that most people mean serious when they go dating online is the least popular answer to the question ‘What makes you ignore the message of a prospective date?’ Only 6% of the voters say they have no time to reply to messages. People do spend time considering the coming messages and decide if there may be any mutual interest. And as LiveDateSearch.com ’s progress suggests, people do spend time rating profiles to make their own ones more noticeable for prospective partners.
