One World Hotel Welcomes New Executive Chef

April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The 438-room 5-star One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya is pleased to welcome on board its new Executive Chef Ammar Ibrahem El Ali.  A Jordanian national, Chef Ammar Ibrahem El Ali joined One World Hotel on 10 January 2011.  A master in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, Chef Ammar brings to the position over 18 years of diverse experience having led the culinary teams at international chain hotels such as the Holiday Inn Resort, Shangri-La Hotel Group, Grand Millennium Hotel and the 5-star Rebak Island Resort in Langkawi (managed by Taj Hotels), Malaysia as well as exposure in Maldives, Sri Lanka, China and Jordan.

He has been working in Malaysia since 2002 with the Holiday Inn Resort Penang as Chef De Cuisine specializing in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine before moving on to Shangri-La Rasa Sayang and Golden Sands in 2003.  In 2006, he joined the Regent Kuala Lumpur as Chef De Cuisine.  When the hotel was rebranded as the Grand Millennium Hotel, he played a significant role in the renovation, creation of menus and opening of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets as Executive Sous Chef. In 2009, Chef Ammar took the challenge as Executive Chef at the 5-star Rebak Island Resort in Langkawi.

In his new role as Executive Chef of One World Hotel, Chef Ammar will be in charge of the overall operation and administration of the culinary team of six food & beverage outlets as well as banquet kitchen with a staff force of 115. His other initiatives include food production, promotions and quality improvement to provide the hotel’s valued guests a satisfying dining



experience. His other task includes creating new menus at the hotel’s award-winning restaurants and managing food cost.
