In recent years, the annual output now is 30,000 tonnes, mainly for exports. The catastrophe in Japan in March 2011 also had great impact on the export of China’s yellow phosphorus and phosphate. From January 2010 to January 2011, China has exported a total volume of 37,572 tonnes of yellow phosphorus with 40.43% to Japan. The earthquake will have great impact on the volume. Meanwhile, the import of phosphate from Japan was sharply cut down.
