April 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Guangzhou China April 11, 2011 - CCM, a professional market research company in China, has published the report on yellow phosphorus in 2010, Global Trade and Flow of Yellow Phosphorus in China. Besides the introduction of overview of phosphorus ore(reserves and exploitation) and related policies, the report focuses more on global trade and flow of yellow phosphorus by analyzing the import and export, and thus make suggestion on the future trend and potential commercial opportunities of yellow phosphorus.

Phosphorus, as a non-renewable resource , is used almost exclusively in agriculture. Two thirds of the world's resources are in China, Morocco and Western Sahara.

The proven reserves of phosphorus resources in China ranks the second with total volume of 17.86 billion tonnes with the high-grade phosphorus ores reserves only 1.108 billion tonnes, accounting for 17% of its total phosphorus reserves. The capacity of yellow phosphorus is about 1.9 million tonnes, ranking the first in the world and the consumption of phosphorus ore in China also ranks the first in the world. Statistics has showed that 80% of Chinese phosphorus resources is used as fertilizer, which makes better growth of crops.

Vietnam announced to impose the export tariff on yellow phosphorus by 5% from April 3, 2011. Vietnam started the production of yellow phosphorus since 2004. In recent years, the annual output now is 30,000 tonnes, mainly for exports. The catastrophe in Japan in March 2011 also had great impact on the export of China’s yellow phosphorus and phosphate. From January 2010 to January 2011, China has exported a total volume of 37,572 tonnes of yellow phosphorus with 40.43% to Japan. The earthquake will have great impact on the volume. Meanwhile, the import of phosphate from Japan was sharply cut down.

Facing different international policies and changing international environment, how will domestic producers take measures to promote better development of the non-renewable resource? What is the future of yellow phosphorus? CCM’s report will be a very good reference of the market intelligence.
