April 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Local insurance agents learned the importance of safe windshield installations during continuing education (CE) training by Glass Doctor of Tulare County on March 23. CE class credits are required for agents to keep their licenses.

More than 18 people attended the “Loss Prevention and Control—Auto Glass Replacement” class, which was taught by a member Glass Doctor Business Development Team.

“Our presentation is designed to teach attendees about safe windshield installations, so they can guide policyholders to auto glass shops that follow correct procedures,” Business Development Director Kay Jacobsen said. “The goal is to help insurance agencies avoid the hidden costs that can accompany unsafe installations.”

The Business Development Team member explained why auto glass technicians should follow every step of the process to insure a safe installation. Many shops in auto glass networks are not held to these requirements, such as using adhesives recommended by the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS) Council and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) glass.
