Event Synopsis:
The recent financial crisis with its many associated bankruptcy filings has a significant impact on intellectual property ("IP") litigation and licensing activities. Cases such as the Qimonda Bankruptcy Case and the Third Circuit’s Exide decision have highlighted issues arising from insolvency proceedings involving patents and patent licenses. The big question is, who owns the intellectual property post bankruptcy? The investors? Creditors? Both? This topic and the issues surrounding it will be explored during the webcast.
The Knowledge Group is assembling a panel of speaker experts and regulators who will share their thoughts in a two-hour webcast. The audience will have a chance for a live interaction with the panel in a question and answer segment.
This event will explore the following topics:
- The Bankruptcy Code: General Principles
- Chapter 11 and Chapter 15
- Bankruptcy Code Section 365(n) Up Close
- The IP License Agreement
- IP Asset Sales and Rights
- Recent Regulatory Updates
- Live interactive Q&A session
