April 12, 2011 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--Special needs kids will be able to enjoy all the fun and excitement of Conejo Valley Days (CVD) during "Special Kids Day," Friday, May 6. Sponsored by Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley for 30 plus years, Special Kids Day brings more than 250 kids and an equal number of volunteers to the CVD site (23 Freeway at Janss Rd. exit) where they go on rides, play games and have lunch. The event is not open to the public.

The kids, in preschool through fifth grade, are all from the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Zonta Club arranges for buses to transport the children to and from schools to CVD.

Volunteers must be 16 years or older. "We are always looking for volunteers to help make the day a wonderful experience for the children," says Mary Lou Miller, Zonta's Special Kids Day coordinator. "Individuals, groups and businesses can also help by sponsoring a child for the day to help offset costs." Volunteer registration begins at 9 a.m. and the event runs through 1:00 p.m.

To volunteer or to sponsor a child, contact Miller at 805-492-5779, email skd@zontacv.org or go to the Zonta Club website: http://zontacv.org/skd/skdinfo.htm.
