Free Annual Symposium Series Kicks Off With Focus on “Invisible Leadership”

Honoring the Pennsylvania State Park patriarch's exemplary life, the new Maurice Goddard Symposium Series looks to longtime Camp Hill resident Maurice Goddard as a role model for topics as broad as leadership, environment, and public policy.
 
April 12, 2011 - PRLog -- The Camp Hill School District, The Lion Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Park & Forests Foundation have joined in creating the annual Maurice Goddard Symposium Series for K-12 students. Honoring the longtime Camp Hill resident and patriarch of Pennsylvania State Parks, the Camp Hill School District will develop a series of programs for K-12 students that showcases the many attributes of a community and civic leader such as Maurice Goddard.

The program uses Goddard as a role model to explore science, public policy, history, citizenship, environment, and communications. and will culminate each year with a symposium where students and the community are invited to attend a panel discussion on a chosen topic for the year.

The 1st annual Maurice Goddard Symposium Series will be on April 12th, 2011 at the Grace Pollock Performing Arts Center from 7-9 PM. This year's inaugural discussion will be entitled, "Getting Something Done, the Invisible Leadership of Maurice Goddard." Moderating the panel discussion will be President of the Pennsylvania Parks & Forest Foundation, Marci Mowery. Goddard's leadership traits of vision, tenacity, problem solving, and working with diverse groups,will be explored as a model for 21st Century leadership.
