Theorem & Pratham - Do Good People

April 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Theorem India recently partnered with Pratham, Mysore, on the latter’s “Read India” program. Read India is a flagship initiative by Pratham’s  which involves Pratham volunteers reaching out to schools in remote villages with the objective of empowering every child to read, write and do basic math, thereby improving their academic performance. Read India program, launched nationally in 2007, has till date, reached 33 million kids across 19 states in 2008-09 alone.  Theorem and Pratham have currently identified 73 village schools in T-Narsipura Taluk of Mysore District to implement the 1st phase of the program in Karnataka. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chandrakanth B N, Managing Director of Theorem India said that “Theorem, being a people centric organization, understands that India’s true asset lies in its youth and the importance of steering their destiny in the right direction. Pratham is one of the few organizations which genuinely works at grass root level, and we are very happy to support them”.
Theorem, a global leader in online media operations, aims to support Pratham in this significant journey which will redefine the way our next generation shapes up. The idea for this partnership stems from the fact that Pratham was looking at innovative ways to motivate it’s large base of volunteers who teach village children selflessly. Two critical areas which needed immediate attention were:
a.   Helping the volunteers to acquire new skills in IT and English.
b.   Providing them basic infrastructure for training and development
It is in these two areas that Theorem will help out Pratham in the 1st phase. To start with, Theorem has helped Pratham build a well equipped training and development center with state of the art facilities. Theorem also intends to train a few volunteers at its world class “Global Delivery Centre” at Mysore.
Apart from this, Theorem’s employees will actively participate in Pratham’s “Knowledge Bridge” program, by volunteering a day each week in which they will teach certain identified topics in these Village Schools.
