By: Dorothy Matheka Over the years the Elephant has been endangered specie with many eyeing the elephant tusks as a lucrative business opportunity. Drought and famine has also led to a decrease in the animals and also to a small extent they fall prey to hungry poachers as they supplement food to the community. Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge has been in the fore front of educating the community and public at large of the importance of conserving these animals. Starting from Green Tsavo reforestation project that has been ongoing with the objective of ensuring that enough trees are planted to improve the eco system hence positively affect the environment for the Jumbos. Also in early march Sarova Taita Hills Partnered with KWS to facilitate the elephant census which went a long way in planning on how to effectively preserve the elephant specie. The Idea behind the elephant signage it not only to add aesthetic value and promotion but also to be our elephant conservation statement on preserving the elephant specie, it will also go a long way in affirming to passing motorists that Taita Hills is a home to the elephants as well as go a long way in complimenting the magical Kenya ongoing promotion of experiencing Kenya even more so to the domestic market as it presents a very attractive signage to the Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge. # # # Sarova Hotels is not only one of the largest chains of hotels and lodges in Kenya and East Africa; it is also one of the most innovative; offering guests diverse experiences that are simply unforgettable.
