‘REAL STORIES’ CELEBRATES ONE YEAR IN WALNUT CREEK
Party On! Theme for April 27 Real People, Real Stories Event
WALNUT CREEK, CA – April 8, 2011 – Complete with balloons and sheet cake, Real Stories celebrates its first year anniversary in Walnut Creek by partying in style with stories about celebrations:
The Party On! lineup of storytellers is shaping up with room for audience participation. Bay Area Comic Sandy Stec returns to tell her story about Cache Creek; Chicago comic Trenton Davis has a party tale; Jenn Suttlemyre, former storytelling champ, has a birthday from her past; and Property Manager Mogul, Nancy Procunier, has a secret she’s never told on stage.
Storyteller headliners get ten minutes on stage; audience members get five minutes on stage. People are invited to come, listen, and share their own stories. Funny, tragic, poignant. Same rules as always – true and personal, told within the allotted time and without notes.
Kay DeMartini’s Real Stories came to Walnut Creek in April 2010 in and has seen cops, real estate agents, ex-cons, senior citizens, handicapped, shooting victims, hang gliders, dancers, and more take the stage to tell their real stories. Themes change monthly, and are as wide ranging as the speakers. Real Stories happens only once a month, with original themes and speakers.
