Easter 2011 - A Chocolate Massage

The ever-popular sweet treat chocolate is used in a variety of ways; for cooking, eating, sometimes for religion, but perhaps a slightly more modern use is that of a chocolate-smothering massage.

April 8, 2011 - PRLog -- We have all heard the rumours suggesting that chocolate actually contains a multitude of health benefits, but how much of this is actually true? Cocoa itself has specifically been studied in order to examine the effects it can have on human skin. Incredibly, a 25% reduction in skin reddening, normally induced from direct UV light, was noted when compared to results taken before the study. In addition to this, reductions in scaliness and rough texture was recorded, whilst moistness and thickness increased by between 11-13%.

Amongst these findings, it has been advised that chocolate massages significantly improve your skin’s moisture due to the cocoa butter contained within it. Secondly, the powerful anti-oxidant properties in cocoa also help prevent free radicals from permanently damaging the skin’s elastin, collagens and other proteins.

Importantly, the cacao bean and chocolate have also been noted as mood enhancers, with the phenyl ethylamine in chocolate specifically raising serotonin levels, or otherwise known as ‘the feel good chemicals’ everybody talks about. Research has proven that due to flavanoids, chocolate (http://www.redletterdays.co.uk/Experience/Ref/XCDTC/A-Cho...) can also have a relaxing effect on blood vessels, enabling better blood flow throughout the body. This type of antioxidant acts specifically as a blood thinner and can actually stimulate insulin production, a particular benefit for those suffering from diabetes.

This truly unique chocolatey experience will simply involve lying back whilst the warm chocolate is massaged into your skin, before a wrap is secured allowing the full extent of the chocolate’s properties to seep into your skin. Your experience will also include a chocolate facial which, due to the antioxidants in chocolate, helps eliminate the production of free radicals in the blood stream, one of the main causes of aging.

A chocolate massage is a remarkably different experience from ordinary massages, partially due to the luxurious nature of the substance, but also the smell and feel of the liquid as its spread over skin. It has been reported by many that having consumed large quantities of chocolate, we actually see a negative impact on our skin – but remember, this is specific to certain types of chocolate. Ingesting large portions of milk or white chocolate effectively means you are consuming extremely high amounts of sugar. If eaten in one hit, this amount of chocolate is bound to have an effect on your skin.

Fortunately, the effects of this chocolate wrap are the complete opposite and act only as a cleanser and exfoliator, conditioning your skin to a much higher level than normal. Your chocolate massage experience (http://www.redletterdays.co.uk/Experience/Ref/SUSCA/A-Cho...) will leave you feeling soothed and relaxed, and the chances are that tucking into your Easter Egg (http://www.redletterdays.co.uk/Experience/Other-Gifts/Cho...) this year will be a remarkably mundane treat after this all-encompassing chocolate experience!
