CHI and Bio-IT World Announce Protein Flexibility and Druggability Session at Upcoming Event

CHI and Bio-IT World's "Structure-Based Design" Conference to be held on June 8-10, 2011 in Cambridge, MA, will feature a new session: Protein Flexibility and Druggability

April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Cambridge Healthtech Institute and Bio-IT World is pleased to announce a new session just added to its 11th Annual Structure-Based Drug Design (SBDD) conference.  The session is titled Protein Flexibility and Druggability.  The SBDD conference will be held on June 8-10, 2011 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  This meeting serves as the annual forum for the structure-based drug design community, providing insights on the latest development in computational technology for drug discovery, and puts structure-based molecular approaches into the perspective of targeted therapeutics.

The Protein Flexibility and Druggability session is scheduled on Thursday, June 9 from 8:25-10:15 a.m.  The following presentations are scheduled during this time:

FAST Prediction of Protein Stability and Flexibility
Donald Jacobs, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Physics, Physics and Optical Science, University of North Carolina

Predicting Selectivity and Druggability in Small Molecule Drug Discovery
Alan Cheng, Ph.D., Senior Scientist, Chemistry Research & Development, Amgen, Inc.

Development of a Simple Metric for the Structure-Based Assessment of Protein Druggability
Emanuele Perola, Ph.D., Research Fellow I, Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Improvements in Predicting Protein-Ligand Binding Energies: Waters, Protein Flexibility, and Empirical Scoring
Woody Sherman, Ph.D., Vice President, Applications Science, Schrödinger, Inc.
