“Live From Music City” welcomes Wayne Nelson of “Little River Band.”

In 1979 Nelson was part of Jim Messina’s band, who toured with Little River Band during that time.  LRB asked Nelson to join them for their next tour of Australia, Europe and America.  30 years later, Nelson is still touring with LRB and has seen many musicians and singers come in and out of their lineup. While he recognizes and respects the history of the band and what LRB songs mean to the fans, they always look for a way to bring something new to the stage.

Formed in 1975 out of Melbourne, Australia, Little River Band immediately claimed their place as one of the great vocal bands of the ‘70s and ‘80s with their solid songwriting; powerful, lush vocals; catchy hooks and guitar harmonies. They are considered one of Australia’s most significant bands with worldwide album and CD sales topping 30 million.

They also set a record for having Top 10 hits for six consecutive years, the first band to achieve that mark.  According to BMI, “Reminiscing” has garnered rare status with over five million airplays on America radio, “Lady” a close second with over 4 million airplays.

The current lineup brings new energy and arrangements to their classic hits.
