The Model Agency Episode 6 - A Star Is Born

After five weeks of following Leomie Anderson’s size 7-steps towards stardom, this penultimate episode of The Model Agency shifts direction entirely after the unmitigated chaos of London fashion week.

April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Instead, the predominant focus is now back on Leomie, whom we enviously watch make her way through the final chapter of Paris and attend her first of many major magazine shoots. Of course, it’s these shoots, as we are reminded, that will ultimately lead to big money in future for further high profile campaigns.

Meanwhile, the episode switches focus to an unexpected turn of events for Premier’s other girl, India. The world-famous photographer Mario Testino suddenly requests a meeting with Premier’s other ‘new face’ for a massive potential campaign for Burberry. However, the agency have a battle on their hands as a result of India’s recent decision to abandon modelling when back in New York at the beginning of the show season. Unreservedly desperate for India to go for this life-changing opportunity, Head of New Faces Annie works persistently to persuade India to go for the Burberry job, but a series of obstacles soon crop up. It doesn’t take long for the whole drama to end in bitter disappointment for Premier, and leaving serious doubts lingering as to whether or not India will now ever return to modelling (http://www.modelsdirect.com/become-a-model/).

Spotlight back on Leomie, she is finally beginning to actually see the success that Premier had predicted for her all along. Having been previously warned by Premier that the modelling industry (http://www.modelsdirect.com/)  is more limited for black girls, in a recent interview Leomie commented ‘During the times when there are no shows on, a white model might get sent to Tokyo to work but that doesn’t happen to black models. There’s a wider market for white models.’

As Leomie has confirmed, in a scenario where a designer is attempting to reach the majority of the public via advertising, the chances are they will pick a white model for such vital campaigns. However, whilst this view is certainly not representative of the whole population, for now the majority of designers will remain within this safety net. On the upside, if Leomie’s phenomenal success is anything to go by, it is looking highly likely that this opinion will be changing in the future.

This episode of The Model Agency gives us an exclusive peek at the undeniably fantastic results for fashion models (http://www.modelsdirect.com/become-a-model/women/looks-ty...) who are lucky enough to succeed in this cutthroat industry. We soon see Leomie become the toast of Paris, before opening one of the top shows and booking her first major fashion shoot for Italian Vogue. It appears Leomie’s path to riches and fame is now spectacularly laid out before her, all of which is of course testimony to the agency’s continuous hard work and determination.
