April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Businesswoman Lucy Robertshaw has the world at her feet thanks to her role as Emerging Markets Relationship Manager for Cheshire based technology management specialists Arena Instrumentation.

The 27 years old executive, who has played a key role in the £3.5 million turnover Ellesmere Port-based company’s decision to open its first overseas operation in Sweden by the end of the year, believes the move is just the first step in an on-going expansion programme.

“My research has convinced me that there are a number of  opportunities for Arena overseas and I have no doubt that we will be looking at other potential bases by the time the new Swedish operation is up and running,” she said yesterday after returning from a three day fact finding visit to Scandinavia.

Lucy, who had been deeply involved in the research that led to Arena’s decision that the time was right for overseas expansion added: “As Britain’s largest independent calibration and maintenance service provider, Arena can offer a cost-effective service that is attractive to a wide range of client companies in sectors as diverse as pharmaceutical , research and development and healthcare.

“Now, after in-depth research, we have confirmed that this expertise will also be attractive to potential new clients in Sweden and elsewhere. Whether they want equipment sourcing, maintaining or disposing of, Arena can offer professional asset management and competitive prices.”

Lucy, who was joined by Arena Managing Director David Dawe on her fact-finding trip to Sweden, added: “This trip has enabled me to start the search for the staff who will run Arena’s first overseas operation.

“Arena’s continued growth in the UK is due to the quality and range of its staff’s engineering and scientific expertise combined with a competitive pricing policy.

“Although equipment manufacturers provide technical servicing and support, Arena has the capability to handle a wide range of technical tasks from servicing to calibration and much more thanks to the quality of its work force,” added Lucy who lives at Marton near Congleton.

“That’s why we have begun the search now to give us the time to identify the right calibre of people who are capable of delivering the quality of service that has built our reputation in the UK.

“We really need to have an infrastructure in place by December, ideally with four to five technicians on board.”

Lucy is confidant that Arena’s overseas presence will grow beyond Sweden. She said: “We have looked at a number of other countries including the USA but Sweden had all the factors that combined to make it the first overseas port of call for our company.

“I’m sure we’ll be looking to other territories in the not too distant future,” added the Stockport born woman who rose through the ranks within Arena after joining the company as a technical clerk.

“So I can expect to keep busy in my role as Emerging Markets Relationship Manager for the foreseeable future.”
