April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Dallas, Texas / Most website owners believe that when online sales are poor, they only need to generate more traffic to their website to get more sales.  This is what most SEO companies tell businesses.

Generating more traffic to a website that cannot convert the traffic into sales will prove to be costly mistake and unlikely to generate any Return on Investment.  Before you hire an SEO company or try to get more traffic to your website, you should first make sure that the site has proven to convert traffic into sales.

In response to the large number of SEO scams, Funnel Science is now conducting free SEO Audits to help business owners determine the true performance of their SEO company.  SEO companies typically offer reporting that appears to show incredible results, when in reality the business has little to no ROI to substantiate the costs.

“From our experience, business owners rarely have the training to understand what is good seo vs bad seo” says Funnel Science CEO Marcus Bradley.  95% of the seo companies are only trying to generate traffic to websites and the results are worthless.

Business owners need to understand that not all traffic is good.  It is very easy to manipulate web bots to ping a website and make the reports show that a visitor came into the site.  In reality, no human visitors are actually viewing the site.

If your SEO is not working to generate more sales and leads, the problem is most likely a conversion problem.  This means that there are problems on the site that are preventing real users from interacting with and completing goals of the website.

About Funnel Science:  Funnel Science is a Dallas, Texas internet marketing agency that specializes in the process of conversion optimization.  Conversion Optimization is the process of testing website variables attempting to increase performance metrics such as more internet leads, or to increase ECommerce Sales.

“Your website should first prove that it can convert the traffic into sales before you ever try to increase your websites traffic” Says Bradley.
