April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Mary Alice Hill: Motivational Speaker & Champion for Women in Sports

In the truly vast field of the motivational speaker, there are a few who stand out. Sometimes it's their sheer ability to capture the audience that sets them apart. Celebrity speaker Tony Robbins, whose big personality grabs hold of people's hearts, has the ability to do that. At other times it's because of something the speaker has done. In this case, it's both.

She is Mary Alice Hill, a celebrated sport motivational speaker. Mary speaks at engagements all over the country and inspires thousands of athletes a year to push their individual and team limits. Her passion for athletics runs deep, and perhaps it is this trait that makes her that more effective in delivering her talks. It's a passion that comes from her fight for a worthy cause; the fight for women's sports.

Her work in ensuring equality for women sports has made this motivational speaker simply unique and a celebrity speaker in her own right. Her love for sports as an international Track and Field runner made this possible, allowing her to give the opportunity of university and professional sports to women everywhere.

From then on, the now women motivational speaker for sports would go on to train four Olympians and coach record setting teams. Her coaching career then led her to become the first Director of Women's Athletics at Colorado State University in the same year women were first given equal rights in sports. For the first time in U.S. history, women were awarded with Athletic Scholarships under the leadership of Ms. Hill in 1973.

Her fight for women in sports began in a victorious flurry and it didn't stop there. In a male dominated world of sports, she was able to win a Title IX sex discrimination lawsuit in a case that set precedents for the athletic world. She then went onto become Associate Athletic Director of Women's Athletics at San Diego State University in 1976. Her next position would showcase her growing influence on sports as she became the first woman Associate Athletic Director (and then Director) for both Men and Women in 1978 (and 1982).

Her accolades go on, from being elected as President of the Western Athletic Conference to being elected to the prestigious National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

The same champion spirit that pushed for women's rights in athletics is the same spirit that makes her an amazing motivational speaker, because it's that spirit that truly inspires.
