April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- RAMS Home Loans’ Chief Executive, Melos Sulicich has joined a team of 100 riders who set off from Martin Place, Sydney today for the launch of the challenging 10-day Tour de Cure cycle ride to Melbourne.

Mr Sulicich decided to join the cyclists for the second year in a row to raise funds for valuable cancer cure research along the way.

“RAMS is extremely proud to be able to get involved in this worthy cause. On a personal level, it means so much to me to be able to participate in the ride to help battle an illness that will touch one in two Australians” said Mr Sulicich.

“After last year I have a better idea of what to expect, which unfortunately doesn’t make things any easier. The training, riding around Sydney in the early hours of the morning has been as difficult as ever.”

“The number of Australians affected by cancer every day is astonishing and we hope to make the lives of cancer sufferers and their loved ones a little more comfortable by raising money for cancer research.” he said.

The Tour de Cure riders have already raised more than $1 million. The money will be spent on cancer research, support and prevention, for the hundreds of thousands of Australians who are affected by cancer every year.

Melos has also raised more than $18,000 from individual sponsorship contributions.

Established five years ago, Tour de Cure has been highly successful in raising $3 million in funds from its rides for cancer research, support and prevention.

Editor’s Note: Melos Sulicich is available to talk about RAMS’ involvement in Tour de Cure and his experiences along the ride. Photo opportunities with Melos and Raymond A. RAM available from 7:30-8.30am Friday 1st April in Martin Place, Sydney.
