Sage integration facilitates e-commerce expansion for Artstore

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 5, 2011 - Glasgow-based Artstore, have launched their new e-commerce website (http://www.artstore.co.uk), which they believe will help them to continue growing their already successful retail business.  IT Manager, Anthony Dornan, believes the input from their Sage Business Partner, Eureka Solutions (http://www.eurekasolutions.co.uk), was vital in helping them move into the online market.

Artstore sells art supplies from their 2 retail stores and have been trading successfully for over 20 years.  However, the change in the marketplace meant it was essential to the continued success of the company that they launched an e-commerce store.  

Anthony explains, “We felt it was critical to begin trading online, particularly because we have a large, young, student customer-base.”

Knocking down geographical barriers was also a key factor for Artstore, “It was important that we were able to increase our geographical reach. Several of our customers live some distance away and only purchase from us once a year when they are in Glasgow buying Christmas presents.  They told us they wished they could visit more often, so the website lets us build that relationship.  It also creates opportunities for customers who never have a chance to visit our Glasgow stores.”

Artstore had wanted to begin trading online for some time but with 40,000 product lines available in their stores they knew it was essential to have a software system which gave them tight control over their stock.  Their business software, the Sage 200 Suite, implemented by Eureka Solutions, provided the control and confidence they required to start work on the e-commerce website.  Eureka Solutions was again asked to assist by integrating the website with the Sage 200 Suite.
