Gallery Films Keep Rolling

The Glynn Vivian has announced extended showing times for Ffilm 3, the contemporary film and video exhibition currently on display at the art gallery on Alexandra Road.

PRLog - April 5, 2011 - The series, which has presented an exciting mix of work from local and international film artists, will now continue throughout April, until Sunday 1 May.

Ffilm 3 is the last of 3 seasons of exciting, original and challenging recent film and video, which is displayed alongside the gallery’s own collection and in various spaces throughout the building.

This diverse and fascinating programme of works have been selected from organisations and collections across the UK, including the British Council, the Arts Council Collection and the Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales, as well as works from the Glynn Vivian’s own collection and films loaned directly from artists.

Ffilm 3 includes classic works by UK artists such as Mark Wallinger, John Wood and Paul Harrison, Carey Young and Angus Fairhurst, alongside Wales based artists Peter Finnemore and Holly Davey.

Exhibitions Officer, Karen McKinnon said, “Throughout this film season across the gallery, we have attempted to show a wide range of films which will appeal to our diverse audiences. These artworks are sometimes humorous, thought-provoking, poignant or challenging, or indeed all of these things. This programme includes work by a wealth of exciting artists from Wales, UK and beyond, who are producing art using film and video in unique and exciting ways.”
