Cutie Pa Tutus Founder Honored With "Inspirational" Award; Shares Her "Aha Moment"

Mom creates product out of necessity then grows it into an internationally sold line of children's clothes. Three years later is awarded the "Power Up-Inspire Others" award & is invited by Mutual of Omaha to share her "Aha Moment"

PRLog - April 4, 2011 - In March 2011, Cutie Pa Tutus'  founder Amanda Moreno Duke, was honored with an inspirational award from the Center for Women's Power Up! Inspire Others contest at the Women in Business Conference.  Duke's story visibly moved the 300-member audience; from designing her first tutu for her daughter's first princess party, then marketing it locally to help earn some much-needed Christmas money, to ultimately creating Cutie Pa Tutus and therefore a flexible career in order to be a more readily available mom to her children.  Cheers erupted when Duke concluded with how Cutie Pa Tutus has become an international childrens label worn by celebrities such as Matthew McConoughey's daughter Vida, Jessica Alba's daughter, Tori Spelling's daughter, Denise Richards, etc.

Duke has received other prestigious awards for her success with Cutie Pa Tutus. In 2010, she was awarded with the title of Charleston's Forty Under 40 and was invited by Mutual of Omaha to share her story in their "Aha Moment" campaign. To watch Duke “Aha Moment” now, you can view it at http://www.ahamoment.com/pg/moments/view/14012.

Cutie Pa Tutus is currently being sold in retail stores in over 40 states and 11 international countries (including Canada, Japan, et. al.), Duke has employed several local independent contracted seamstresses to assist her with the growing work orders that are consistently being made for the cute tutus, super hero capes, dresses and twirly skirts.  Duke is heavily involved in the work at home mom community and wanted to give other moms and grandmoms an opportunity to earn money while being able to continue to stay at home raising their children. Employing these women also allowed Duke to fulfill more orders and send them out in a timely manner to her customers.

Passionate about giving back to her community in other ways, Duke has donated a portion of her profits to local non-profit organizations like Lowcountry Orphan Relief, hospitals, schools and churches; and national organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the March of Dimes.  "It may not amount to very much now, since we're still a young & growing company," Duke explains. "But we'll grow our charitable donations as we grow ourselves and can afford more."

The full line of Cutie Pa Tutus, Super Hero Capes and Twirly Skirts are available for sale on the Cutie Pa Tutu website at http://www.cutiepatutus.com
