Lower Sioux Indian Community Expands Wastewater Treatment Facility

April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Wilkus Architects is proud to be part of an integrated design team providing design services for the improvements to the Lower Sioux Indian Community Wastewater Treatment Facility, Morton, MN.  Prominent environmental engineering firm, Bolton and Menk, Inc. is leading a comprehensive team that includes Wilkus as the project architect.  The project includes a Wilkus designed 6000 square foot Activated Sludge Treatment Building which will replace the current lagoon wastewater system.  Construction is nearing completion and all new facilities should be online in the summer of 2011.  Buffalo, MN based, Gridor Construction, Inc. is providing General Contracting services.

Lower Sioux Indian Community:
The Lower Sioux Indian Community is a federally recognized Indian tribe located in south central Minnesota in Redwood County, approximately two miles south of Morton. The community is located on the southern bluffs of the Minnesota River valley.  Pride in their history and culture are at the heart and spirit of everything they do. Today, the Lower Sioux Community has almost 930 enrolled members, more than half of whom reside on Tribal lands.
