In a bid to discover more about the attitudes that father’s across Britain have towards breast milk, the UK’s leading discount website, http://www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk,  conducted a survey of 1,216 dads to look into the matter further.

The study, conducted by http://www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk,  found that more than a tenth, 11%, of the fathers polled had ‘tasted’ their partner’s breast milk; of whom the majority, 41%, stated it was  out of ‘curiosity as to what the taste would be like.’

The respondents to the study were initially asked ‘Did your partner breastfeed your child?’ to which more than three quarters, 76%, answered ‘yes’.  A further tenth, 9%, stated that their partner ‘tried’ to breastfeed when their child was born.

According to the study by http://www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, 16% of the fathers who admitted to tasting breast milk said that they did so because their ‘partner had tried it.’ In comparison, 9% claimed that trying their partner’s breast milk was ‘accidental.’

The respondents who admitted to tasting breast milk were then asked ‘Did you like the taste of the breast milk?’ Almost a quarter, 23%, answered ‘yes,’ whilst a further 54% said ‘no.’ Just less than a fifth, 18%, stated that they ‘couldn’t remember’ the taste of breast milk.

Further to tasting their partner’s breast milk, more than two thirds, 68%, of the dads polled admitted to eating baby food before; 38% of which said that they ‘liked the taste.’ Almost a tenth, 9%, claimed that they ate baby food because they were ‘hungry.’

Mark Pearson, chairman of http://www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk,  commented on the findings:

“This research was really interesting; the men evidently had a great deal of curiosity about breast milk, so it wasn’t that surprising to see a tenth of them had decided to try it. It would be interesting to conduct the same survey with mothers to see if mums are more or less inclined to taste their own breast milk.”

He continued,

“It is ultimately the parent’s decision on whether they choose to breastfeed their children. It isn’t uncommon for the mother to attempt to breastfeed and later find it too challenging and end up using formula. If you’re looking for great discounts on baby products, we have a fantastic selection available on-site, so it’s always worth checking before making purchases.”
