Rob and Brian's 250-mile challenge for charity

April 4, 2011 - PRLog -- The fundraisers are planning to cycle from West Bromwich Albion to Sunderland Football Club on 8 April, and make it in time for the premier league football match between West Bromwich and Sunderland on 9 April.

The duo, both from Swindon, work for Wiltshire-based supplier of expertise to the telecoms industry, Virtua UK. They plan to raise money for national charity MS Research.

Rob said: “Every year thousands of people are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, it is more common than people realise and there is still no cure. This, plus the fact that a couple of our closest friends have been affected by it are key reasons we are attempting the journey.

“MS Research has been doing a great deal of research over the last few years to find a way of helping people cope with MS and work towards a cure, and we want to help their cause. We strongly believe that the money we are going to raise can help MS Research in their campaigns to make a difference to the lives of many suffering from it.”

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the communication between the brain and other parts of the body.

Money raised by Rob and Brian will help MS Research provide information for anyone affected by multiple sclerosis, education programmes for health professionals, funding for practical research and campaigning for specialist multiple sclerosis services.
