The company has partnered with Preliminary Profiles to develop and implement a drug free workplace policy. “It was a logical next step,” says the CEO Sarah Whetstone of the company’s decision to become a drug free workplace. The company’s hiring process already included a criminal background check conducted by a third party organization.
“We just feel that with the increase in drug use and the affects on productivity and safety that drug use can cause, we want to prevent from bringing that into our workforce,” said Everage Richardson, a senior manager for the company. The company has already tested its most recent addition to staff last week and random drug testing of existing staff will begin in June after the required sixty-day notice period to employees expires.
“I’m excited to be able to provide this additional level of protection to our employees and clients. This move is also a part of our overall strategic plan as a company, says the company’s CEO of implementing the program. Company employees and supervisors attended a required drug free workplace training on April 2nd.
The VP of Human Resources stated that the company plans to randomly drug test 75% of its workforce annually in addition to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and post accident testing.
