Youth Financial Literacy Organization Salutes: April's National Financial Literacy Month

WorldofMoney.org calls on youth to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices. CEO Sabrina Lamb has designated 2011 as “The Year of Developing Capable Youth” empowering financially responsible adults; one child at a time.

April 4, 2011 - PRLog -- The WorldofMoney.org was launched in December of 2005, quickly amassing an ambitious roster of financial experts who remain committed to empowering underserved youth with a sound financial foundation, graduating hundreds of students.  The WorldofMoney.org provides underserved youth, ages 12 – 18, with the empowering tools to survive economic cycles, by examining their own money mindsets to create budgets, establish savings plans, manage/avoid debt, understand investment strategies, set financial legacies and make sound decisions for their education and retirement. Having these basic financial planning tools encourages underserved youth to become family team players, maximize their longer-term financial well-being and to balance consumer and investor behaviors.  Founder/CEO Sabrina Lamb shares, "The WorldofMoney.org will continue to empower youth by emphasizing academic success and changing the legacy of family financial instability and poverty.

Since the inception of WorldofMoney.org, luminaries such as Carl Banks (NY Giants), Keith Wyche (Pitney Bowes), Congressman Greg Meeks, and Maribel Aber (NASDAQ) have attended as honorees. John Liu (NYC Comptroller), Reverend Floyd Flake (Allen AME Cathedral), William Rapfogel (Met Council on Jewish Poverty), J.B. Schramm (College Summit, Inc.), Sheena Wright (Pres/CEO, Abyssinian Development Corporation), Donna Sims-Wilson (Pres., M.R. Beale) have also been past honorees. Executives from companies such as State Farm, John Hancock, AXA-Advisors, Wells Fargo, Barclays Capital, Merrill Lynch, Standard & Poor’s, Bank of America, Prudential Elliman, News Corp, and New York Life have answered the call to be our Financial Presenters to instruct and mentor our youth.  

WorldofMoney.org has presided over the opening/closing of the NASDAQ bell, had June 16, 2008 named as WorldofMoney.org Youth Financial Literacy Day and also has been named at NY-1’s “New Yorker of the Week in July 2007.
