Blog Addresses Parents’ Questions About Children’s Music Education

Having taught more than 1,000 students between 8 - 18 years old over the past five years, School of Rock owner Stacey Marmolejo has seen and heard just about every challenge or concern a parent wrestles with when it comes to playing rock music.

Where do young guitar players meet other kids like themselves?  Not in the school's orchestra or marching band program.

I have a child with a passion for playing bass guitar and he dreams of being a rock star when he grows up.  How do I nurture this dream?  Or should I?

My daughter wants to play the drums and we want her to play the violin.  Help!

As a way to help parents, Marmolejo has begun a blog to address the most common questions parents have about their children's music education.   Everyone wants to belong to a community and kids who do not find an outlet through which their creativity is valued often suffer with low self esteem.  Finding the right music program is critical for a child. It means the difference between healthy self confidence and a network of friends and being lonely and struggling with self doubt.
