By: Jonathan Deutsch, MD Jonathan lives and works in Morris County New Jersey. He is fortunate to have a wife and three children for inspiration and love. Jonathan started painting with acrylics as a teen during the 1970s and continued working with acrylics and oils during his studies at the University of Rochester. He continues to enjoy experimenting with different styles, techniques and motifs. Recently he started using encaustics. This technique dates back thousands of years and is quite durable. His passion for art has continued long since completing his academic training. For Jonathan, art is a calling similar to that of medicine. It gives him a voice that he would otherwise not have to express himself. In this way it is restorative and timeless. Currently Jonathan is involved in the research and development of new pharmaceutical agents, including oncology therapies, as well as aesthetic medicine. Jonathan's artwork has been exhibited in a variety of venues and collections. He maintains a website where some of his work is posted for viewing: www.jonathan- On Sunday, April 3rd at 11 AM, Jonathan will be giving a talk and answering questions at the Gallery. The Gallery of the Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes is open Tuesday-Friday 9AM-3PM and Saturday 9:30-11:30PM. The Gallery is located at 730 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417, 201-891-0511 or pcflmgr@yahoo.com. To contact the artist Email: jdeutschmd@yahoo.com. End
