Autism Service Dog To Be Placed Free Of Charge - In Recognition of Autism Awareness Month

April 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Animals for Autism was founded by the parents of children with autism.  The incredible difference having autism service animals made for their children changed their lives.  Rather than training show dogs, as they did years ago, their passion now is improving the quality of life for those with ASDs through the use of  autism service dogs.  Every autism service animal trained and placed by Animals for Autism is put through a rigorous training program designed to meet the specific needs of the individual with whom it will be placed.  Anyone with and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who is in need is encouraged to apply.  The application deadline is April 30, 2011.

Animals for Autism also offers a standard autism service animal program for those seeking quality service animals with reasonable placement fees.  Through the generosity of various donors and many volunteers, Animals for Autism is able to place their highly-trained autism service animals at a fraction of the traditional required donation fees.  All puppies placed in the program are donated by a group of distinguished breeders of AKC and UKC show animals.  The specific animal chosen for placement with a candidate depends greatly on that individual's needs.
