NEW YORK, March 27, 2011 -- Against a backdrop of armed conflict to assure humanitarian treatment of citizens living under oppressive political regimes, a leading psychology training institute today announced the first international conference dedicated to helping individuals who have been victims of oppression.  Organized by TRISP, the first educational institute dedicated to training students in self psychology, the multidisciplinary conference will be held May 13-15 in New York City.

"Bystanders No More" is the title of our conference, which is dedicated to helping individuals who have been oppressed on account of race, religion, class, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or political affiliation," said Doris Brothers, Conference Chairperson. "We are convinced  the dialogue at this conference will help all involved to lift their voices against the forces of silence."
