In an effort to combat the serious problem that bedbugs are creating for the accommodation sector, STAY WYSE is pleased to announce a new bedbug-detecting dog for hire. Bugger is a highly-trained purebred English Shepherd designed to detect the pests, which are often invisible to the naked eye. The Australian Tourism Industry alone loses $75 million (US) annually to the pesky critters. For €1500 per hour (STAY WYSE members will receive a 40% discount), Bugger will sniff out bedbugs in every room of a hostel or hotel, irrespective of rating or cleanliness. His only limitation appears to be an aversion to any room that Madonna has slept in. Bugger responds to several commands, making it easy for the business owner to maximise his return on investment. "Bugger up" will have him get on a bed and start his task. "Bugger off" will have him jump down from the bed, although saying it too forcefully may hurt his feelings. "We think having Bugger on board will really raise the profile for the entire association," For more information please see: http://www.staywyse.org/ # # # WYSE Travel Confederation is a nonprofit membership association that supports the global youth, student and educational travel industry. It is endorsed by the UNWTO. Its annual event , WYSTC, takes place this year 20-23 September in Barcelona. End
