March 31, 2011 - PRLog -- National Day Nurseries Association Cymru, Wales, 31 March 2011 – National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Cymru has developed a new factsheet to support nurseries with understanding the new Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) requirements. The factsheet has been produced in partnership with CSSIW and is being made available free of charge to all nurseries throughout Wales.

The factsheet is designed to share information about the new process for CSSIW inspections and regulations and requirements in order to assist nurseries with ‘The new model for information collected from regulated settings – 2011/2012’. The changes include the introduction of two new forms which will replace the current Self Assessment Form.

NDNA Cymru produces a range of factsheets as part of its support to members and is making this factsheet available free of charge to both members of NDNA and non-members to support the sector in meeting the new regulations. All nurseries can download the factsheet free of charge by visiting http://www.ndna.org.uk/cssiwfactsheet

Purnima Tanuku OBE, Chief Executive, National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA), says: “We are pleased to be able to offer this valuable support to nurseries throughout Wales. CSSIW inspections are an important part of running a successful high-quality nursery but these new requirements have raised a number of questions from settings about what they need to do differently. This factsheet therefore explains clearly what has changed and how the new process will work.”

Imelda Richardson, Chief Inspector, CSSIW, says: “We want to make this new inspection process as simple as possible for nurseries and are delighted to have worked with NDNA to develop this important, accessible factsheet for nurseries. The factsheet has been produced as a useful guide but further information can also be obtained by contacting your local CSSIW office or visiting the CSSIW website at www.csiw.wales.gov.uk”
