Hays High School (Buda, TX) art teacher, Marnie Hart, introduces i promise to... which she has written and illustrated with a passion to help save the lives of animals in need.  Proceeds from the project will benefit non-profit groups in a desire to bring awareness and assistance to the countless animals who need a voice, care, and compassion to find loving homes.

A German Shepherd named Bonham, once on a shelter’s next-day “death row,” was rescued and joined the author’s family. The book is about the promises made by an adoptive family to a pet, and in return, the promises made from the animal -- in this case, Bonham -- to his new family.

Hart's original mission was to personally do something for shelter animals. With the idea of a book in her head she began the process of writing and creating stunning, detailed illustrations. Nearly 18 months later, the book is published.

With a firm desire to be a part of the solution, and to be involved, Hart is using this opportunity to inspire others to use their own abilities to make a difference. The list of organizations to receive donations from the book is open for application, while Austin Pets Alive!, Austin, Texas, is the current benefactor.

Partners donating time and services to bring awareness to the project include HauteDog:Wet Nose Culture magazine, Bluedogg Innovation & Marketing, and Norah Levine Photography.

Cover price is $15.00, and wholesale opportunities are available for the book and other related items that will raise funds for the cause.
